INSTRUCTOR:
My desire to begin my career in healthcare began in 1972 when Emergency made its debut on TV , with Johnny and Roy as paramedics. In 1983, at the age of 15 with the help of my ever supporting Mama, I was able to start my healthcare journey as an EMT.
Volunteering and working paid ambulance service for the next 20 years and progressing to Paramedic, I took the plunge into emergency nursing. What a reward it is to be able to take care of people at their most vulnerable moments.
Throughout my journey, education has always been very important. I started teaching BLS, ACLS and PALS as a paramedic. After graduating nursing school I immediately began as a paramedic clinical coordinator for our local community college in VA continuing that until my move to Florida in 2012.
In addition to AHA classes, I LOVE teaching Trauma and Pediatric Emergency Nursing through the Emergency Nurses Association. Sharing all of the knowledge and experiences that have been shared throughout my career gives me the desire to continue giving back.
