ACLS is designed for healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiac arrest, stroke, or other cardiopulmonary emergencies. This includes personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, critical care/intensive care, and surgery such as Physicians, Nurses, and Paramedics, as well as others who need an ACLS course completion card for a job or other requirement. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a course completion card, valid for two years. Please contact your employer to ensure that you are selecting the correct course.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) is offered in two training formats: blended learning (HeartCode® ACLS) and traditional classroom instruction. Both options follow the same science-based curriculum established by the American Heart Association and result in the same ACLS Course Completion eCard.
The HeartCode (blended learning) option is generally designed for first-time students, while the traditional classroom course—with required precourse work and online exam—is better suited for renewal students.
HeartCode ACLS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the AHA’s ACLS Course. HeartCode blended learning delivers quality resuscitation education regardless of where providers are located and gives them more control to complete the course at their own pace.
Providers first complete the online portion of HeartCode ACLS and then complete a hands-on skills session with an AHA ACLS Instructor or a HeartCode compatible manikin.
Access to the ACLS Provider Manual eBook is included with HeartCode ACLS. You will be able to access the Provider Manual from within the course.
HeartCode requires online learning from the AHA which is followed by an in-person hands on training. The eLearning costs $173 and the in-person costs $135. We offer hands-on a variety of times throughout the week, usually at 9am. You can complete the online learning anytime, from anywhere. The hands-on takes place in our classroom.
The AHA’s ACLS course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. Reflects science and education from the American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
The ACLS course is conducted in a classroom setting and requires full completion of all precourse requirements, including the online exam, prior to attendance. This blended approach allows students to complete the cognitive portion at home before participating in an in-person hands-on skills evaluation. The hands-on session typically takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours to complete.
