- You must have a valid and current American Heart Association Provider certification for the discipline you plan to teach. Red Cross or others are not accepted!
- Complete and Pass the Instructor course.
- Purchase the AHA required equipment to conduct classes.
- Complete and pass your scheduled monitoring class.

The Heartsaver Instructor course is for those who have a current Heartsaver CPR AED and First Aid certification and who are seeking to teach CPR in the community. Heartsaver CPR can be taught to non-medical personnel in child-care centers, for personal trainers, sea captains, and general public.
